Thread regarding 2U Inc. layoffs

This is why employee turnover is so high

Managers and directors are a bunch of young people who lack experience and do not know how to manage people or run programs. Many of them have superiority complexes and/or are sheep who follow orders from other incompetent people. All they actually do for their unearned six figure salaries is blame and micromanage individual contributors. This is why employee turnover is so high. This, is pathetic.

@cwii+1mH4PTax hit the nail on the head.

Lack of experience/skill is more of an issue than just being “young”, but with age comes experience. Also, the statement in the original post is a fact, many managers are in their 20s, even if some feel it is discriminatory..

The problem with many of the managers and directors at 2 U is that they are good at just giving you orders, but don’t know how to develop you, build moral, or make you feel valued. Most employees have no respect for their managers, because they haven’t earned it. So, not surprising they are on here being defensive.

Wow. This thread is teeming with comments that bear the hallmarks of immature conduct, and alarmingly, I presume these are coming from managers.

Labeling them as 'young' does veer into the territory of ageism. We should base our evaluations on the content of their comments.

It's illuminating, if not disheartening, to see what these posts reveal: a dearth of professionalism, an absence of self-awareness, and a deficiency in empathy.

If you find yourself resorting to all caps to underscore a point, incapable of engaging in mature dialogue, perhaps it's time to reconsider your career trajectory. A path less concerned with the responsibility of leading others might suit you better.

Summer is approaching, and fortune may favor you with an opportune moment for a change...

Calling managers and directors “young” is a discriminatory act of ageism.

If you have more experience why are you not in a leadership role?

You should pay attention to Glassdoor. Salaries are far from 6figures.

Please google the difference in micromanagement and supportive management.

Many people feel uncomfortable when their boss is supportive but the automatic response is “omg my boss is a micromanager” there is a differenc
