I'm safe for now but I have very little information and am very concerned about these layoffs. Does anyone have any insights into the target groups? I'm also interested in how many people have been laid off so far?

None of this is tied to actual strategy, so just wait until a new CIO comes in and people will start to hire them again. More tactical nonsense from the top that just cycles every few years.
This is an ongoing back & forth at NM. Scrum masters were let go in 2016 or 2017 as well.
The new CIO doesn’t believe in the scrum master role, those in that position are being eliminated at the end of the month, I don’t know how many but it’s in the dozens. To NM’s credit the package is very generous.

The reverse racism at NM is outrageous. NM is more aggressive then most east coastal companies.
It seems to be a lot of areas where Neil focused on expanding during his time as CIO - ICS, TCS, EIRC, etc.
They are probably continuing the as--ult on white males.
