LOL - I persuaded my management chain to offer voluntary layoffs as a means of reducing headcount and getting budgets under control, and as soon as they decided to go ahead, I put my name on the list. That was seven years ago and they've been the seven best years of my life. Footnote: After 42 years in the industry, 37 of which were with MDC/Boeing, my managers came to me on the morning of my last day and asked me to put something together about what I'd worked on over the years. Then at staff meeting they basically read the notes I'd written, there was a round of applause from my group teammates, and I was escorted out of the building. No party, no gift, no family invited, nobody from other groups I've worked on and for, not even a card. What a classy company! (Because "low" is a class, too.)

Another round of rifs coming to ISC org. 60 day warn notices aug. 16..with last day on payroll being oct. 20th. Management completely deflected answering questions. Not impacting contractors or offshore folks, only fte/blue badge.
In ISC all team last week a second line mgr was put on the spot about employees hearing of more layoffs. Mgr started stammering and tap dancing around it. So theres your answer. Whole org is going to implode.
ISC hot mess continues. This org is bleeding senior fte buyers. Lost 4 more in July and management keeps screaming "damn the torpedos full steam ahead". Along with the shitestorm of new SAP system.
At this point you have to wonder is management really this inept or is this on purpose.

Boeing is staffing design centers in Poland, India and Brazil. As soon as they feel they are fully staffed they will start offloading work to them, the same as they did with Moscow.
All the recent hiring is a stopgap until the design centers are fully staffed and people are brought up to speed.
