Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

5 Months

So it’s been 5 months since I was laid off from GF after 11 years of service. I browse this forum from time to time, just out of curiosity. What is most striking, is that nothing has changed since the layoff for those people that remain. Same complaints and same toxicity.

It’s hard to see the world and opportunities that exist outside of GF. One thing I’ve noticed at my new job, is the lack of commiserating among employees. Sure, people gripe here and there, but GF employees are next level miserable. Reading through many of the posts here, a common theme of attack, blame and insult is evident. As long as you’re apart of GF you are part of the problem.
My new job is amazing. The people I work with are happy and full of positive energy. The company itself along with management are supportive of the employee and goals. I just want you all to know, that the best thing you can do is to leave GF and start fresh.don’t be afraid.

Whole management team is cr-p and joke. Who will like to stay in GF than these failed individuals who could not find a job anywhere?

I think the problem is at GF is we put too much trust in TC figuring he would take care of the company and it's employees. Instead, he brought the company public (if you call it that when one investment firm owns 80%+ of shares) and when the company went public he and his leadership team all got rich from stock options and RSUs. The time has come to clean house and get rid of a bunch of dead weight at the top and near the top!!
