Add TSMC into the mix and you may have a perfect storm that can wreak havoc on QC auto business.
Telematics for cars is now commodity and QC is competing directly with MTK purely on cost. Infotainment is something that NVDIA is going to give QC run for its money. Especially with its AI developments. What’s left? ADAS… but it’s capital intensive endeavor where QC is competing against NVIDIA and Intel/Mobileye. OEMs seem to be reluctant to take QC ADAS stack. Car to cloud is a joke since OTA updates for cars is not a value add but rather table stakes.
I would be super concerned about this announcement if I were CA and ND.
