A coworker told my boss when salary/benefits would be restored.
Boss said, let's be thankful we have a job.

I am not a boss and thankful to have a job. at WD or anywhere else.
Try your best to get out asap. Please don't wait for the Aug layoff announcement. Three months is plenty time. You don't want to go though this misery and humiliation like us.
I agree with the comment says company can keep testing your tolerance as long as it realized you are not able to find a better place.
TBH, what the he-l you think this way? During covid, all tech company increased pay and benefit, but not WDC, now, when economic going down, and you accepted down pay. Man, you deserve in WD and got screwed up.
The boss is actually correct if we are not capable of finding another better place to work. Company can even go further to eliminate benefits to test your limit.
