Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Tired of all this?

I am constantly tense because I don't know how much longer I will have a job here, and I am also disappointed because now I realize that all my efforts to have the best possible performance are probably in vain. If I got a solid offer, I wouldn't think much about quitting here.

Sound advice, if something comes along do not waste your loyalty on 3M because you can be sure that loyalty is not reciprocated.

Yep. Don’t do anything extra. Do your 8 hours 5 days a week (or 4 x 10) then set it aside. They don’t even really deserve that. They certainly don’t deserve extra. Extra hasn’t mattered for years anyways. Who gets a 3/3 at the end of the year was determined on the previous January 1. Nepotism run rampant.

Recommend working from about 730 or 8 till 430 or 5. Take your time at lunch and avoid the overpriced cafeteria with smaller portions than the 3M good old days. Plus cafeteria is full of laughing hyenas trying to impress an EVP, not knowing it doesn't matter because hr is spitting out the names by some computer program so that they can avoid another age discrimination lawsuit like mcnerney caused.

Absolutely no work after 5 or on weekends. Read some good books and watch good TV shows. If the end is near, at least you didn't give them your heart and soul when they've become soulless and corrupt.

Maplewood has become the armpit of corporate American behavior
