Stands to reason right?

I was once the owner and director of a small business. I ran it for over ten years. Later I came in on the ground in the engineering management of a number of successful tech startup companies.
Now I am with Qualcomm I effectively still run a business - As I am sure you are aware, Q is built from and run as system of competing business units. Ours was doing OK. Always on target and under budget.
Now staff morale is at an all time low. We lost over a $100k from last years budget plus headcount budgets for staff that left in that time were not being replaced. Some projects have been canned. Though at least one maybe not soon enough.
I've been ensured next years budget will be smaller. It has been made quite clear that complaining loudly or even mentioning the numbers would be a bad idea.
If Cristiano carries on like this my team will fail at our goals, run out of staff or money or all of the above.
I've seen this top down rot before - never ends well.
You do realize there are patents on the wall that make no money! Every patent was not created equal
Marisol! And that old guy in the urn responsible for all the patents, we are here, rising from the ashes to remind u all...the best is past u now forever. There is no future. There is only Marisol and the patent wall and now urns and shrines. That's it. So sorry.
If a technology company with billions of dollars is having a tough time breaking through new technologies, what makes you think a small fish has better odds? Its no just money and good ideas, there is a lot of luck inbolved. Even if you make it, the bigger companies just need to copy, acquihire or simply ruin you to take over. There is something called the apple vendor graveyard...
How do you know they aren’t running the business? Also, the past 20 years they really couldn’t have done any worst…. The only thing that has changed is…. The people who made the money making patents were still alive 20 years ago
