Thread regarding HP (Hewlett-Packard) layoffs

How many already laid off so far?

Of the 4-6k announced layoffs, how many people have already been impacted? To my knowledge I think only ~100+ have been reported in the media. It was stated that the majority of the layoffs would happen by the end of this year so I’m surprised not much has happened yet. Seems like HP will drop the bo-b some time in 2H or final quarter.

Just received this message from a former colleague in San Diego. The San Diego lease will expire in October after Apple paid 445 million dollars for the campus. Prepare accordingly.

"Two weeks ago today I got the bad news that my position along with many others would be cut. Now today, being my official last day at HP. I want to say what makes HP great is not just the level of talent that works there, but the character of its employees."

"Keep in mind that many are taking the early retirement package that was offered. Had about 5 people leave in our team so far due to that."

About 900 total took the early retirement.

Fewer than 500 a month. That is how they keep it under the radar and don't pay severance under WARN mass layoff notice. Truly pathetic of HP to do this to avoid severance.

So 400 x 12 = 4800 layoffs just in one year by keeping it under the radar

Enrique is a con artist just like the rest of them. Sure, he can claim 6k over 3 years and lay off 5,998 this year, and one employee in 2024 and one employee in 2025 to get his 6k.
