I see so many of you breaking your backs working for nothing. Too often you will work 50+ hours a week with little to no compensation for that. Promotions are rare, as are bonuses. There is no room for growth or career advancement within Optum. So tell me, why bother?

No one with a working brainstem would voluntarily work in the US empire unless they're brain damaged.
Agreed. Most are hiring contractors/consultants as temp to fill the void with numerous RIFs. Then no need for management to work. They can rid off temps without paying severance etc. Life only gets easier for management. No accountability is the norm with this org.
Don’t even waste your time believing or attempting to get another job internally. Their so called redeployment program is such a joke. And once your last official day arrives, you are now external and won’t even see the meager few job postings because they can only post as internal. They do not want you back. It hurts a lot so don’t wast the 30 days that I did, thinking they will move you into another role.
From the start of Covid until I got laid off, we were nonstop busy. I was burned out and they kept asking for more all the time. Created a void where I was constantly depressed all the time. Shortly after getting laid off, I felt a lot better.
Before Covid, it was a nice place to work. Sure there were other problems. But when I turned off the computer and went home, I felt better. I miss those days.
Where are you working? I see a complete slow down, confusion and chaos. People are so stunned with a depleted workforce and then find another person gone whose job responsibilities have not been back filled.
Managers are scrambling while contracts get terminated. Very few are working hard here - they all feel like they are next. Nice Job Captain Eyebrows. I used to love to come to work.
Don’t forget racist unskilled supervisors and sneaky HR who violate your rights and never put the patients 1st, just themselves and metrics
