Tell everyone one what your plan is

The silence is deafening , in times of crisis at least 'try' and reassure investors, markets and employees. No, there is so much speculation, conjecture and a touch of fear to be honest. Everyone understand this GM model, but you need a plan, why silo everything and disrupt business practice intentionally - Splitting business across multiple lines of business is just absurd unless you have a PLAN, Tell everyone one what that plan is so all can at least try and get behind it - Msg to the ELT , Communicate Communicate and communicate some more, stop hiding and stop taking advantage of the good will of employees.

Yes the job market is that bad right now. Average job hunt is 5 months.

No merit increases for salaried exempt employees. Now why would I assume that doesn’t apply to the executives?

Does the job market suck that badly right now, that they don’t expect people to bail? The most talented people will be the ones to leave; they don’t have to stick around and do their work + the work of those recently axed for no raise.

I thought the idea of layoffs in a sane company was so you could afford to pay your remaining staff a normal salary which includea rises. He keeps gaslighting us that everything is great and then takes action like this. FU you don't get a minute more than my contracted hours and don't start this if we all work hard we will rewarded that's not how it works and you know it.

No merit increase this year. Thanks Chuck. What a shrude way to get people to leave without paying out severance. Work harder through attrition without ANY reward. I'm sure he appreciates it oh so much.

It's not just the silence from the ELT. There are about 6 or 7 layers of middle management above my line manager. We've heard nothing from them either, in some cases nothing for years.

With limited resources I don't understand how mushroom management is going to get the best out of folk. Do they not teach the concept of morale in business school these days
