Losing valuable institutional knowledge

No layoffs are not unethical, however UHG's methods for choosing who to lay off are unethical. However going through the headache and the time it would take to seeing through a complaint to the labor board, I'm happily taking my severance and leaving the toxic environment. We'll see how you feel when you have busted it all year performing at a 5 level and your eval says you're a 2. Managers were told they had a give out so many 2s. Some cases they were told they had to give specific person a 2. I know someone that had created a
tremendous amount of value for the organization last year, extremely knowledgeable, high producer, great all around teammate. His manager tried every thing to keep and they wouldn't allow. I'm certain they eliminated the highest paying positions and any position where the teammate had exhibited a high level of ethics. They gave no thought to the knowledge and experience they're losing. Leaving behind low performing unethical teammates that have no problem lying and cheating so the DOJ can surpass last year's 21 cases filed against UHG and/or its entities. Actual impact UHG has on US health care, higher costs and more people without access to affordable health care.

I got a 2 after repairing and outperforming all previous planning efforts for my LOBs. My manager was harassing and reported for several behavioral issues. He was a prior "call center" rep and completely uneducated. Very scary for the future of company to not care about ethical issues & institutional intelligence. It will eventually catch up to this monopoly.

They continued to hire temp consultant/contractor despite hiring freeze. Why? The so called "management" can cut the "temp" without cause(lifting a finger to manage) nor be concerned with RIF pay out. In the meantime, the FTE's are forced to do KT - reason? Leadership is trying to "free" you (FTEs) up by providing augmented backup resource... Do they honestly think we are not able to figure out the games they are playing? Why? the "Boa$$d" are the enablers... feeding frenzy with more stock options and bonuses (old story).
