Thread regarding Amazon.com layoffs

Walkout!

I hope everybody in Seattle joins. They need to know we won't stand for this.

Amazon is notoriously abusive to their white collar workers as well.

Does it make sense to commute round trip 3-4 hours only to jump on a Chime call with your team across the country?

I work 10 - 14 hour days as it is. Add in the dismal commute and I'd call that abuse.

Why is it people assume abuse is only physical?

It was a 'walkout' at lunch.... 'at lunch'. Let that sink in...

Were these jobs advertised as WFH jobs to start with ? Covid is done, time to get back to office. Or, join a startup - get a paycut and work from office.

It'll prove they truly are like high school protesters, Then the manager-teachers will call them back into the classroom and things will continue on.

Explain this a bit more please. I've read it's a "lunchtime" walk out. What will that really prove/do?

These employees should just disagree and commit to RTO.

I fully support this job action, and people standing up for themselves in general. RTO policies do, indeed, suck and there's no good reason for them, only bad ones.

However, I am a little ambivalent about white collar workers complaining about their conditions at a company that's so notoriously abusive of their warehouse and delivery staff.
