They stopped doing the only thing that has a chance of saving the company, fiber. Electric companies and municipalities are/have filled the massive gap between Frontier and happy customers. While we fa---d around with junk FWB and remote Dslams, trying to call everything we sold “frontier fiber” to trick people, contractors for power companies put fiber in faster than our internet moves.
Hey Mr smith! You should pay frontier $60/month for 50 year old copper on old outdated equipment that goes down every storm instead of $50 for brand new fiber!!!

Likely, ziply fiber picks us up at discount rates like they did the northern territories of frontier. Oddly, they seem vastly more organized than the shitshow that is Frontier.
That’s been the plan all along. Likely a 5 year plan. We came out of bankruptcy in 2020 if I recall. They’ve been trying to spread good cheer about their buildouts and bottom line for the shareholders. Even if falsely painting a positive picture. I think it’s become clear their picture is revealing it’s truths and flaws. Likely, they won’t make it the 5 years to fulfill their plan as the fed money ran out. I figure they try and shore up as best they can. Nick abandons ship and we either enter bankruptcy 2 or they cut their losses and fire sale us to some other 3rd or 4th rate telco like frontier.
