Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Sharing my experience after leaving Qualcomm

I voluntarily left Qualcomm because my boss made it very clear that he does not like me. So before he let me go, I have decided to leave. I went through lots of interviews before and after leaving Qualcomm to find a position in another company. At first it did not go well because it was not easy to get the interview chance and also I was unprepared for interviews, especially technical interviews. But more and more I applied and do interviews, I got better and I eventually got multiple job offers that I really liked and I could select one of them. After moving to another company, the new job is far better job than the job that I had in Qualcomm. I am just sharing this experience for Q employees who are laid off or afraid to be laid off next round.

Do not be scared, Do not be disappointed even you do not get a good position immediately. Just keep trying and it can be actually a good thing to your life depending on how you react. I found some comments that Qualcomm will pay salary until July for the people who are laid off. That is enough time to find a good position.

I was laid off during 2020 covid shut down, when it was similar to the current situation and nobody in the market was hiring. It took me four months to nail down 2 offers, one of which from Q, but both offered lower title and compensation compared to my previous job. I tried to negotiate the first offer, but immediately the company told me they decide to sign another candidate. So I took the lesson, and signed Q’s offer without asking a single question. To anyone who has go through this hard time, go strong and don’t give up!
