A Brief History of Semiconductors: How The US Cut Costs and Lost the Leading Edge

Cool story bro
Human nature is to think and feel from a standpoint of fear and/or despair when overcome/faced with hardship such as job loss or even impending job loss. For the immediate and short term this is natural.
For the long term, however, we are making a mistake if we seek the "giving hand" of the one who abandons us in the time of need.

What if we encouraged each other to view this as an opportunity to use our experience, forge alliances with other in our predicament, work on ideas and produce new competitive technology?
The intent of people with leverage in the US government, the tech lobby and the tech companies themselves is relieved by their actions. This articles would help one to understand more:
A Brief History of Semiconductors: How The US Cut Costs and Lost the Leading Edge

Scamming our xenophobic government with a bunch of Potemkin fab shells. Every semiconductor company hates hiring in USA because labor is too expensive, and yet every college student knows they can make way more money in software or finance. Tax breaks disguised as infrastructure investments won't fix that contradiction.
Last week Cement was poured into the Ohio facility and big whoops from everyone. This is purely Intel going through the motions to get its hands on chips act money. Same in Magdeburg for EU Chips Act money, Eamonn Sinnott will me ‘interim’ Fab Manager for some time to come. Job of permanent Fab Manager was advertised over 6 months ago. Let’s see what Intel gets from the German Government.
Mark my words - All these graduates will end up as dr-g addicts in homeless encampments. This semi talent shortage nonsense is a prime example how d-bags at McKinsey, BCG and Deloitte spew false narratives and ruin lives. And then there are clowns like Patty G, Mehrotra and SIA. This industry can't even hire 300 STEM graduates in a year. What are these 300,000 graduates going to do? When was the last time a semi executive convinced their own kids to get into this sh-t-hole of an industry??
I don't like that Intel has to grift for gov't assistance... ironically, Intel used to be against such things. I guess when you get punched in the face and you fall into the ropes you will grasp at any lifeline you can find...
All these university programs are so exciting... Too bad Intel Ohio facility is an empty shell and they can't generate enough demand for products to fill the current fabs, let alone the new fab in Ohio...
So, looks like we are training US and foreign workers and they will all go to work at NVidia and TSMC. The CHIPs act give tax credits but since Intel in many years pays less then the 15% minimum that the new Inflation Reduction Act requires, won't get much benefit from the program.
I am very stupid in understanding how this world operates. Ppl are getting layoff like crazy and then this article comes out. Fake news?
