This report does nothing more than confirm that UHG/Optum are focused on growth and profit. The quote from UHG has been the company line for many years even though it’s mostly disingenuous. Having been inside their IT area I have seen the gradual yet still largely inadequate fraud detection or prevention. Instead they have invested heavily in offshore staffing, 100’s of millions in India, as well as other countries in the effort to control their costs. The result has been a decrease in service quality, lowered employee morale, and really very little improvement towards serving the healthcare system other than remaining profitable and expanding. These are not the good guys!

Remember how the Banks financial institution collapse in mid 2000’s.. does not take a crystal ball to figure out what is in the horizon ..not sustainable with artificial growth but no integration strategy
