Wednesday, May 24, is Last Day for buybuy Baby. I guess this explains the pallets of baby merchandise we received in our BB&B store...

What difference does it make?

DG Buy Buy is still open as of 6/1. Not that it matters. It's like announcing the death of Francisco Franco.

Actually, the only thing that matters is that my store is better than yours.

Okay, actually that doesn't matter at all, other than the fact that if your stores were like mine, we wouldn't be in this situation.

Just sayin'.

The main reason they can't just sell baby is the debt is shared amongst that concept as well. The millions upon millions of debt BBB has isn't segregated to just the BBB side of the house, baby has that debt as well. It's like seeing a derelict house with a decent bathroom. You can't just take the bathroom out of the house, you need to take on all the cr-p that it is attached to. Plus baby was only profitable within the BBB universe and not worth what it once was, their sales have declined significantly and the concept isn't worth much of anything.

It would have been impossible to sell Baby-there was absolutely no way to separate out Baby from BBB in JDA…I worked for corporate.

I work for Baby ive not been told our last day is the 24th.
But then again Patty visited waisting money traveling to stores like nothing was happening and a few days later bed bath filed. So i guess anything is possible. I guess the store doors will either be open or locked tomorrow.

Does it really matter at this point? All stores will be closed for good before August. Between now and then the "when" is irrelevant. Happy job hunting.

You do know the article was very specific about BuyBuy Baby, and didn't say a thing about BB&B last day, right? Also, there was a similar article about Texas, and likewise, it was only about BuyBuy Baby, and not about BB&B, which was something you made up in your own mind, because you were the only one who said that anyone was talking about BB&B last day.

You do know the article is just about a specific market they are not talking about all BBB and BABY stores .. some will take longer to close .

More than likely investors expressed interest in it but BB&B either couldn't sell it because of the bankruptcy or wouldn't sell it separately because of the bankruptcy it's all or nothing
Maybe they don't have to report earnings separate in investor and SEC filings but there are ways to get their sales figures separate from BB&B the investors had the numbers when they were planning a hostile takeover of the board.

Stop with the BABY was profitable .. It didn't have a P & L and didnt have to report sales separately, so no proof of anything . There were multiple companies that looked under the hood and decided not to purchase it .. wonder why ??

The parent company DESTROYED Baby. They were profitable up until they couldn’t get product in the stores because we weren’t paying our vendors. They should have sold it instead of bleeding it dry. Such a waste.

And you know thanks to C Suite, we'll never really know how profitable Buy Buy really wax. Just like we'll never know how much business BBBY lost in the last few months. Moot point now, but we pretty much knew on the stock conversations that the estimate of one billion bucks for Buy Buy was pure pie in the sky memer garbage perpetrated by a bunch of rubes praying for a sale. It would not shock me at all to see Buy Buy more profitable, at least until this past year or so when BBBY could not pay for garbage pickup, much less merch. They obviously sold things necessities repeatedly at Buy Buy.

Feel bad for the old lot person at DG. We helped each other a great deal in that big parking lot with carts on Butterfield.. Or "cart therapy" as one of my ex ASMs used to call it. I hope he landed safely somewhere. That was usually the last thing done at night and at 53, we had at least 100 carts at one time. We'd wrangle the things from one store to the other. And note these were mostly metal ones, not like the newer carts. We would find them in snow drifts. On occasion when my slacker partner was avoiding work on Sunday night, I would find the things frozen to the pavement in the corrals on Monday.

Yup- "My bad".. No sh-t.

Most likely. Strange that old BBBY stuff has been showing up at Hobby Lobby from posts on reddit, however. Didn't know they did shower curtains!

So sad Baby was the only profitable company BBB owned.
