WARN act was triggered, it will be reported.
media is busy with AI hype by the likes of openAI Nvidia etc. Q just isn't relevant and a waste of the audience attention span. At most san diego tribune will feature a news story
WARN act cannot be managed! And there has NEVER been a time when media was paid off in past layoffs! Whatever you are smoking tell me where you got it bc that $hit is strong!
Numbers are small, or some things are still ongoing, or reporting is delayed
Media can be managed. Pay them they will do what you tell them to do.
Most mismanaged layoff by management
They did layoffs but could not even leverage this unfortunate situation to boost stock price
The performance of executive management is easily gauged by the stock performance..
We all know how stock is doing
Volunteer retirement is not layoff. Majority employees are volunteer.
Good observation, I'm surprised why when 1000 people were let go, there is no news.
News articles were posted when San Diego only let go of 53 employees earlier this year. Also, a WARN act was filed with the state of California. No WARN act filed and not a single article saying layoffs happened on the 17th!
If less than 53 employees were let go it was not a layoff - it was a performance firing!
A simple and short answer: layoffs outside the US are done yet. You would see some changes coming to Qualcomm China in next few weeks.
Although I agree that’s the logic for any company but not just for qualcomm
actually layoff would be good for ws and stock should go up if opex goes down.
I find it very odd and really question the magnitude of the alleged layoff.
Good question, my thoughts are that, it may further give bad impression to the ws. Any news is bad news for qualcomm.
Also CA neither cares about employees nor investors.
