Just got the word that another round of layoffs will be coming to anyone who isn’t cross-trained in different platforms. If this sounds like you, I suggest you come up with a backup plan immediately.

My backup plan is to get the axe. I was disappointed I wasn’t part of todays round. Sad, but true
Ajajaja. Bs excuses to kick out. Ajajaja, who came up with bs words, cross tranied (cheap approach)? to be an engineer and a nurse or a doctor and a mechanic at the same time just in case you can cover each other while we are kicking out and getting our bonuses and stocks. Why do not they cross trained useless scrum masters, at least they will know something more than switching the user story from Completed to Accepted as well as managers? They always say the team should be self-functioned, yes, right, why does the team need useless scrum and managers to listen about compaints? When they start dumping unrelated story on me saying, it is an opportunity to learn, yes, sure, what about opportunity to pay more for that? Oh never heard of it.
I have 10 applications out, I don't care either way what happens. I'm so over the will I be laid off this week or not scenario. I can make it without Optum, I don't need them just like they obviously don't need any of us, were just numbers. Why anyone would stress about work or go above and beyond blows my mind, just do you and do what you have to.
I work for optum and I work in multiple platforms. I was informed today that I will be laid off.

They just laid off people who were trained in different platforms. Make it make sense.
Thanks for the update. This is another "intimidating" strategy by people above to make you believe your worthless! If a person was never provided the opportunity to be cross trained (subject to discretion of the leaders- again subjective), one are deemed to be "doomed"... This is how this disfunction org under toxic leadership!!
Agreed, ALWAYS have plan B never stay complacent putting your trust in the hands of sh&tty leadership.
