Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel arrogance

Intel’s implementation of OKRs can’t be taken seriously since we tied them to compensation. That goes against all industry wisdom and experience. But somehow our management thought they knew better. Intel arrogance.

I'm curious, is there anybody who thinks this was a good idea? Not OKRs in general, but specifically how it was implemented here?

Nothing but a feel-good mirage. Pretty effective way to fool yourself and ignore the hard reality.

I have seen some managers just wanting to tick mark the okrs and call it done especially because they scared of CPM with an attitude that anything further will be put on a scapegoat.

Inte employees treat okrs like the ceo treats the quarterly guidance. Set the bar real low and exceed it!
