Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

More layoffs this week

Another round of layoffs this week - the operations team had their positions eliminated (East and west). This makes me think there will be more coming.

My sister that worked for corporate just got laid off and a few other people as well after working 12 years there. This new CEO doesn't know what they're doing. Horrible place to work for.

I'm over 60. I know it would never happen but if the company would carry my healthcare (allow me to pay the company rate until 65), I'd be gone from Walgreens yesterday. Wouldn't think twice.

I think a lot of it is ageism. Most people being let go are over 50. Do they realize ageism falls under DEI? HR is doing some sneaky stuff. Eyes wide open

They really are trying to keep all these layoffs quiet. It’s amazing how many people they’ve fired. And yes they eliminate your position and then HR says you can say you’ve retired. ?? That’s really transparent and helpful right? What a joke.

Yes. 2 VP's we let go and another VP is "retiring".
