Would you rather constantly think about when layoffs will happen or deal with it ASAP? If it's going to be May 17, I welcome it.

Even if there is a RIF tomorrow in May 17 don’t be surprised if there is another RIF by end of fiscal year if mobile market doesn’t rebound.
Q is sooooo bad at layoffs...
You keep asking for layoff but will not happen. The plan is to allow attrition and only replace critical position if there are really any that important remaining after the fruit eat most of market pie.
Pull the bandaid off already.
We all want to get over with this .. whatever the outcome is.
This is such a mismanaged layoffs
Uncertain around for months
It depends. If you are okay with a layoff then sooner is good. If you are not okay with layoff, then later is better - use the few additional months to apply for jobs in parallel as backup in case you are affected as job situation is not good.
Natural attrition is good. You are just a number anyways. Q can take better care of itself than you can take care of Q.
People aren’t built to deal with uncertainty. We can handle good, or, bad news. It’s the not knowing that messes us up.
Some geniuses on an earlier thread seemed to think that delaying it is better so that natural attrition can reduce the number of people who will be laid off. Of course these said geniuses fail to realize that we could lose some really talented people who might be sick of waiting around for the axe to fall
Do you think if it happens on May 17th, it will not happen in future?
Same. I want to get it over with.
