Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Are case management teams “safe”?

Is there a history of laying off teams within the CM programs? Our teams seem somewhat stable but nothing if certain.

I am in BHCM. Legna’s structure was hit twice, and Williams once (all under Nate kring). There is def a pattern here and I expect more tomorrow and 6/1. They definitely are not done but there is nothing you can do. MAPs, metrics, salary, seniority…. None of it appears to matter based on their patterns. I’m tired of watch low performers and CAPs stay while I get 5’s and get booted (this is my third time finding a redeployment).

Case management in C&S is largely an exercise in calling numbers that do not work, and/or the members do not answer.

So, yes, that is a place that may be cut.

I’m a manager and was forced to lay off my most senior case manager. I’m probably next tbh

Several managers and directors within case management for both commercial, c&s, and external payer teams have been eliminated. We’ve been told no frontline staff will be impacted.
