Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

6% cut, will be announced in the all hands meeting

However, CELO likely to say “further cut is possible in July”
Many VPs and Directors took VR, many will be kicked out this time. Senior position like principal will be impacted. Mobile division 20% cut.

Pending RIF is real. Rumors will be mostly high titles and outside engineering, so low level engineer ICs should be fine. Keep your head down and keep working hard.

Right, if I were to come up with a rumor at least I will say x% in QCT, which sounds more plausible. The OP apparently never worked in Q.

Any news about the “mobile division” is fake and more or less copied from the earliest Indian Business Inside article. Do you remember QC internally EVEr use this term? I’m not saying anything about the actual layoffs just regarding fake news like these

Why specifically 6%? Why not 5%, 7%, 8%, 10% or 20%?

Stop your childish role playing game. You’re not HR, and your no-layoff claim is so stupid that HR team is actually under an active layoff.

How to source IP address? If you are not the owner of the forum or law enforcement with probable cause, you are talking about illegal ways?
I wouldn't recommend doing anything illegal for Q right now, not worth it.

Please stop posting lies about layoff. There is no layoff. We are watching and will source your IP address and find you.

Please look at how many people were let go in 2018. Before saying massive layoffs can’t occur! All these young engineers that can’t invent anything and been told they were special their whole lives have no idea how easily replaceable they are!

So cut on engineering team would be very minor?

RIF very likely this week mostly in SG&A plus many voluntary retirements for high titles. Except for high titles in engineering, relax, engineers shouldn’t be impacted much.

QCT makes 90% of Qualcomm.

What is mobile devision? Qualcomm runs BUs. Those people who say mobile devision have been out of qualcomm since there were omnitracks

There is not a BU called mobile nor department.

Traffic on this site is high irrespective of whether there are layoffs of not. Layoffs or clamoring for layoffs is part of the Q culture. Even after this round is done, there'll be high volume traffic, that more should have been cut (or less) or who should have been chosen and so on.
