Best Buy has been laying off people from stores for a while now. I'm guessing the goal is to reduce the number of locations and move to online sales as much as possible. I believe we're looking at store closings like none before down the line. Hopefully, everybody has a plan B ready.

I live in a suburb of Minneapolis, and had not shopped in a Best Buy for years. Went into one a few months ago and was shocked at the poor inventory, the lack of assistance, and the dreary atmosphere. I couldn't find what I wanted and I couldn't get help at this store, so I drove to Best Buy next to the headquarters in Richfield Minnesota; absolutely no problem getting help or what I needed. Executives need to get their behinds into their stores and make some changes, or the brand will soon have the Circuit City experience soon.
Needs to happen anyway. Never anyone in the stores when you go in. Close some down in markets that have several stores. Make it a destination location again. Get rid of some of the long tenure managers just to cut costs even though they were good managers. Just like they do to everyone else, every spring.
