Inefficiency

How many more unqualified DEI promotions can the company absorb?

@den+1m8q4etY Good example! Following on your comment, the government should not interfere with the free market, forcing laws unto the people, like Biden is doing with EVs now.

Even the woke Ford Motor Company is concerned with the latest EPA rules, because it doesn't depend only on automakers to comply with the rules, and even our C-suite understands that Americans don't want BEVs. My concern is that all these measures and investments to comply with the current administration rules may be a waste of money, since is highly probable that the next administration (no matter if R or D) will change/soften most of these rules due to their the extreme nature.

Can the company survive the current climate of hostility to ICE (let me remind you the sales of F-150 are the one thing keeping this company afloat) and then adapt again to a new administration? If the company let go all the ICE engineers (like it seems will do) and later on needs to comeback on ICE lineups again, can we find that talent again? Shouldn't the fired ICE engineers find new jobs/retire? So where are we going to tap for more ICE talent if needed? The company should be very careful about letting ICE talent go, because we may not get it again.

It's not just DEI, too many friends and family promotions for unqualified folks.

Until people stop buying the product. Or they cannot purchase the product. Just plot our sales over the last 25 years; I think that should indicate the cost of inept leadership. This is not just a DEI problem but good ole boy network as well. The company has not properly recognized the effect of poor decisions/ miscalculations. Doug Field is no savior either, this is much larger than what he claims his level of influence to be. Only saw one glimmer of hope with Mullally, that too was tarnished with DPS6. Again this company is a problem that one person could never fix in the average span of a CEO at the company.

Ford is destined to be a case study for future MBA students to learn how not to destroy an iconic company.

Political correctness replaces disciplined actions, push for EV/BEV replaces segment leading ICE truck, and billions spent on a technology few people want with an undeveloped infrastructure. Leadership that resembles the wizard of Oz hiding behind a curtain.

Tragedy that so many employees will be crushed in the process.

Due to the ability to tax us and print money the answer is there is an unlimited amount of DEI promotion... until that doesn't work any longer

Perhaps you are forgetting the party line: "There is no inefficiency in Paradise."
Example: Once Castro had eliminated the wealthy land owners or Farmers and replaced them with party loyalists the nations food supply dwindled and they fell into famine. Why ? Because the Farmers were replaced by political appointees, and not actual 'Farmers'.
There ya go kids - that ought to be simple enough to understand. If not - read 'Animal Farm', which was and still is banned in Cuba.
