Thread regarding Quest Diagnostics layoffs

I do not recommend working for Quest

Layoffs have occurred just in the last week after Easter and summer support staff type positions so they need their eliminated the position or somebody else is going to do the work they've also eliminated some other positions related to lab work like quality assurance, and some feel that there's going to be more to come.

One of the issues that some employees are concerned with and management doesn't seem to care about is the fact of how some management treats the employees there is one Department when they've had a supervisor there for over two years and that supervisor doesn't know how to do any of the jobs that the employees under him can do and I'm trying to stay in general here so I'm not picking out what department but he doesn't know how to do any of the work that they have to do on a daily basis including using the equipment that they use while working and this guy's a supervisor?

His biggest attitude problem is he's got too many people with tenure and it upsets him because when he's trying to do vacation scheduling I have too many people that have 4 to 6 weeks a year off because of their length of tenure and he won't let them take more than one week off at a time which is unfair especially when the manager and supervisor take two weeks those people worked and earned those benefits under the company policy they've had discussions about it and there's been some retaliation by it supervisor over some things that were reported by employees has anything happened to the supervisor no.

And then other instances where employees that have tenure are making less per hour than new hires coming in because they can't keep people because of the rate of pay they pay and there are people that have verified that fact as a new hire actually told someone would tender what they got hired for and the new hire got a $2,000 signing bonus yet they have somebody that's been there for over 15 years this is one of many he didn't get a $2,000 signing bonus and to bring in new people and pay them more money to do the exact same job it's not right yet management when they had other issues that people complained about mainly in the vacation scheduling where you want to get your time off and they won't give it to let you know about it when you're trying to plan for a vacation to save a trip you know it's been said by the supervisor if you don't like it there's the door and that's the type of supervisor and management that they have a lot of them don't give a damn about their employees they just figure they quit will go hire somebody else they have gone through so many new people this year in the one department they spend time training them go through all the information and they don't even stay six months a few of them got their $2,000 signing bonuses and mailed what's good does that do

They're concerned about retention is BS they've had the same issue before and we're going to do things to you know retain employees and it's BS they just keep rolling over hire new people hire new people biggest single issue is the rate of pay the area this happened in the cost of living is higher than other parts of the country you get her salary review you get 2% while the cost of living is gone up eight and a half percent sorry for the long reply but it's the truth and I don't remember anybody coming into our department wanting to offer anybody age 50 and over a early retirement plan they did it a few years ago and some people took it they got one person whatever her age was that her years of service they gave her 26 weeks of pay with medical benefits but would not seeing or heard that in in our department and when they had somebody that wanted it they refused to give it to him and let them take it when they wanted to leave and the attitude you want to leave quit so they don't have to pay and the bottom line overall is that supervisor manager or cheap ba----ds they do anything they can to cut corners and what are they do it sure to save money but they're doing it to make themselves look good so that they get their bonuses at the end of the year and that's what quest employees that are hourly like lab Logistics Etc runs into I for one would not recommend anyone coming to Quest to work you might run into one manager or supervisor that's good but you got the rest of the others they don't give a damn about their employees we got want a warm body in that position and that's it and then people don't stay and they wonder why how much money do they spend on training every year and they train somebody for a week and the day they're supposed to start work and actually do the work the people don't show up what happened to him I decided I don't like it or nah I don't want to or they just don't bother to show up anymore makes it hard all the other employees they're out there giving their all every day like it's their own business so Jim Davis has his big salary I haven't had a chance to see what he's getting paid but I'm sure his is not all monetary he's got to be having some type of large stock option just like the previous CEO did you looked at his cash salary was x amount of dollars he made all of his money on stock you think they would even give stock options to employees he-l no yeah you get a discount if you buy the stock but not very much enough of my rent people that would read this and stay with it I do not recommend you eat even work request either find out the hard way that they're not a good place to w o r k

I'm bumping this because it's on point and more people should read it. It was posted at @21miq+1k6kyuS2.
