One of the largest companies in the world laid off a pregnant woman, who was 2 months due, to save what would be pennies to them. AmerisourceBergen/ Cencora does not care about their employees. Morale is at a all time low. People have disappeared without saying good bye. IT security teams have disappeared. Quality assurance teams have disappeared. Strong leaders and accountants have disappeared. This is just phase 1 of the layoffs. If the economy gets worse, upper management will not hesitate to layoff more employees.

Why is there so much nepotism in this company? My department has a manager with two daughters in the same department. Everyone quits so they hire friends and family instead?
Keep in mind this is an anon board and we do know if this is accurate.
It's easy to fabricate things on any board.
Or, just look how much our politicians lie.
That appears to be illegal. All of their "Diversity" is about hiring and promoting obedient people with no qualifications for the job. Some so-called leader just hired his friend's wife despite her lack of qualifications for the position. They have never cared for anyone let alone diversity if they do not care for a pregnant woman. I'm embarrassed to be a part of this organization.
They laid off another pregnant woman who started maternity leave that day.
Sears used to do the same thing.
It is truly disheartening to hear about the recent layoffs and the unfair treatment of employees. It is unacceptable that some workers were selected purely based on the whims of middle management, without any consideration for their performance or loyalty to the company. It is even more distressing to know that some of these affected individuals are on visas and have to uproot their entire lives within a short period of 60 days.
The lack of empathy and rationale in these decisions is a clear indication of the company's disregard for the well-being of its employees. It is imperative for organizations to have a fair and transparent process for layoffs, where all employees are evaluated based on their performance and contribution to the company.
It is crucial for companies to recognize the impact of layoffs on their employees' lives and take steps to support them during this difficult time. This includes providing adequate notice, severance packages, and assistance with finding new employment. It is high time that companies prioritize empathy and fairness in their decision-making processes and ensure that all employees are treated with the respect and dignity they deserve.
You are correct that morale is in the toilet. Trust in senior leadership has been completely destroyed with this move. They have been somewhat transparent as to the reasonings - expensive percentage outgrowing growth percentage - but without hard numbers those percentages are fairly worthless other than as talking points. There appears to be no rhyme or reason to the positions cut and everyone is on pin and needles waiting for the other shoe to drop.
The ironic this is that AB already knew that they had an internal trust issue with recent employee surveying and then they turn around and completely throw whatever trust they might have had right out the window.
Sounds like they did something illegal. That person had better be in contact with the local labor board to report them.
