Isn’t it presumptuous of Broadcom to assume that regulators will bend to its will and finish all their investigations on Broadcom’s timetable?

Good news coming for employees.
Wishful thinking. People don't want to see it but we have tons of wasted space in each department. When some colleagues asked my opinion whether they'd be in danger - I only respond
"Think about your position. Are you busy 8hrs a day / 5 days a week and do you produce tangible results. If you are out on annual leave or sick leave - do people struggle with finishing their work - is your absence noticeable"
Majority of people are not busy, do not produce constantly tangible results nor does anyone notice when they are on annual leave. Bottom line - we need to have layoffs whether you like it or not and the reality is - a lot of people that I talked to and actually responded honestly, also agree that a lot of times the reason they don't want to leave VMware - is because the job is easy and the package great - a package that is unlikely matched by companies 'in the wild'.
From UK perspective I can guarantee you that my 6 figure salary job here (incl. bonus) pays half in central London. UNLESS you wake up and don't just rely on your VMware tech to see you through your career.

Hock is not going to be able to get away with the same sh-t he has in the past anymore. He has earned every bit of his reputation as an anticompetitive scoundrel.
Yes, but that behavior has gotten Hock where he is now. He has lived through more regulatory reviews than versions of Python at VMware.
