I think the likelihood that Dell will offer a voluntary offer is almost non-existent. However, maybe the leadership should think about it, because currently there are lots of people who only do the bare minimum, without any motivation and desire to add value, and I think that costs the company more than voluntary severance would.

This option would be great! Let those that are unhappy or nearing retirement make a choice to leave voluntarily. This will save jobs for those that are happy or just not in a position to leave. I personally am just a few years away from retirement and would love to jump off the hamster wheel a little early into a nice little safety net!
yep, we have a few taking off
that is why it is Indian run now. The only people in the company that can take a month off with no repercussions.
When they did it before, too many people happily left. Sweatshop can't operate if there's not enough sweat.
Including me! Don't know how to treat people on manufacturing floor. Sad
for Dell in Germany?
Voluntary severance started in Germany.
What about Voluntary severance for people approaching 65 , they already know they are eligible for Medicare in the US . Most of this group would take it if offered .
They’ve laid ppl off on medical leave & FMLA. Dell isn’t going do anything out of goodness of there heart.
mentor's leave the mentee's
They did it once before, but I doubt it will be offered again. I think they lost the best people when they tried it.
Manage those people out. You dont get rewarded for treating water
sign me up buttercup.
They wont do it. The people who want to move on are usually the ones they want to keep.
I think they will just work people out with PIP's and stress.IMHO.
