The company is unfairly recalling employee's that have inside connections. This practice is prevalent, North Carolina's office is rife with this practice. How is this fair to the employee's who survived the first round of layoffs. All I can say is there needs to be an external investigation By the state regulators for unfair labor practices.

They are getting rid of IBM legacy weight. They will reposition the ones, they need to recall. They layoffs are all part of a strategy to dump the older workers. Their favorite lap dogs will be back soon enough.

The company lawyers are expecting people to follow the path of least resistance. For some, accepting the current severance offers may be a good option, but they will inevitably be poor offers...on purpose.
Be knowledgeable, be clinical, and take you're emotion out of this to figure out how best to approach dealing with this. Just my two cents worth.
Everyone in my group has a meeting tomorrow. It isn't typical that we get individual short term meetings. Likely our group of 16 are gone. Will post update tomorrow.

It looks like notices went out last week. I'm guessing that they'll be staggered based on bench dates but who knows? No one in management says anything at all. Losers.
