Thread regarding Change Healthcare layoffs

Anyone got a Cobra letter but not a Termination notice?

Couple of us received a Cobra Rights notice from UHG but no termination date. Anyone got the Cobra letter but haven't been informed of a termination date?

Just funny how we got the Cobra info the same day they told us we were getting laid off.

@2yrd+1m75lXtk- Sorry to be the messenger. Yes, CHC staffs are supposed to be transitioned over to UHG/Optum. There were multiple people that were part of RIF after "transition" from other acquired CDO. Plan B helps in this M&A climate!

Actually, Change Healthcare employees were not terminated and should not have been labeled that way unless they were part of the several downsizing layoffs that have taken place. Change Healthcare was acquired by Optum/UHG and the Change Healthcare employees were "transitioned" to Optum/UHG into various roles. Change Healthcare is no longer an entity; the staff were to be migrated to the HR system of the Optum/UHG which was to be a seamless exercise. So why there was a Cobra letter sent is truly unclear.

If you look at your profile on Identity IQ, everyone is listed as "Terminated", because our employment with CHC has ended. We're now on UHG's payroll. That, by law, triggers a COBRA notice, though no one who transferred will qualify, because they are being offered to enroll in UHG's benefits.

I guess you haven't started a new job in a while. Companies are supposed to provide your Cobra rights by law and this usually happens during onboarding.
