The life of working for a PoS company. For those in the RTP area they should be OK finding jobs. Not sure about other areas of the US because tech is in a massive layoff era.
For those laid off, don't let it waste any of your time. You WILL find another job. Look outside your comfort zone as well. Believe me, I let the fear always consume me until I was let go from this s-hole. I had 5 interviews during the grace period. 2 lead to multiple interviews and offers a few weeks later. I had 3-days for one to review the offer, make counter-offers and the other I had a week before another "interview" to discuss it, ask questions, and negotiate. After carefully considering, I took the job where I never had to worry about layoffs again, add stability to the family, and what truly Work/Life Balance is. 40 hours per week, insanely better benefits, and only $200 less take home per month. But there is almost no medical bills I have to cover which far outweighs the take home difference. Plus, guaranteed pension plus the same 401k match.
And the company spending $$ and flying people all around the world for SKO to celebrate FY23 achievements acting like everything is rosy. The worthless mid-level executives still there and the useless highly paid vertical execs too- and are gonna continue to turn a blind eye to the individual sales contributors who are buried beneath the workloads of their departed colleagues.
Toxic workplace driven primarily by favoritism, brown-nosers, and dysfunctional leaders- if you were cut this round, so sorry. Give it a few weeks to adjust, and you’ll be singing the “Hallelujah Chorus!”
I think he told you that for you not to feel bad.
Our manager told us that all departments and all Geo’s were affected
So this is mostly for IDG then? ISG and SSG safe?
I didn’t hear of anyone getting resource action aka layoff in December and one of my teammates did this time around. It sounded like to me this time around would effect more groups unfortunately.
I’m in IDG Warranty and 2 people were laid off today
I was hearing through the rumor mill it was 25% of all of North America...that's extremely high. Find it hard to believe, especially since so far I only know of one person who was hit.
No percentages but expect it to be less than it was in December.
Any info on total number?
