Mostly heard about cuts in May. There are talks about directors being cut or higher ups. Can’t say if they will cut any associates as of now. They will evaluate where to cut from and who based on ownership of the store.
Does anyone know anything about what cuts are coming in May as the targets for all stores will change in May.
What is going to happen?

There are raises this year.
Director is another word for assistant.
What exactly is considered a Director?
You can add Colorado to the list of places we are flying people into to make stores look like they never look for a customer for a regional visit. Our store has managers on leave and we have to send leaders to smaller stores just so they can stand around and do hourly labor tasks like filling and recovery. We had customers walk out today because they got tired of waiting for the one person working in jewelry to get around to helping them.
@1ckw. So if there's no more external hiring does that mean the stores are fully staffed?
I want to understand. Please clarify! The company is reducing hours at the store level. HUR is the most important metric for now, however, we are FLYING store managers, and members of the visual teams to Northern California, Chicago, and the northeast to get stores ready for corporate visits. Think of the number of colleagues that could be working in the stores if we did not need to pay for flights, Marriot hotels, and food expenses. Something is not right. Eliminate the dog and pony shows and keep colleagues in the stores on the selling floors!
NJ just passed a law coming next monday about the warn act.. Starting Monday, New Jersey workers have a new set of rights when they get laid off by their employers.
These rights are afforded under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, typically called the WARN ACT.
Proponents like bill sponsor state Sen. Joseph Cryan, D-Union, said the measure was inspired by the collapse of several large-scale retail giants such as Toys R Us, based out of Wayne.
After filing for bankruptcy in 2017, Toys R Us laid off roughly 2,000 New Jersey workers, some of whom received severance pay only after gaining outside support from advocacy groups and politicians.
"Companies and hedge fund managers have been exploiting bankruptcy laws to protect their profits while workers lose their jobs, their paychecks and severance pay," Cryan said in January. "The workers were left in the dark and cheated out of deserved compensation while the companies were pillaged for their resources. The law will help protect the rights of the workers from these abuses.”
No more colleague cuts in Store, only through attrition but no external hiring either. My understanding is all central jobs or director and above might be on hold. Not sure any further restructuring. Haven’t heard anything else.
Are they cutting raises this year, too?
My concern is this, it starts with upper management then works its way down. I hope they let us know in advance so we can make plans.
We can't handle any cuts at the store level. We are so behind with truck and RTW fitting rooms are out of control.
Directors are useless so good idea.
