I'd prefer a Mass Layoff.
Unfair stack ranking and PIP is really bad and destructive in the long-term.
Just let folks retire and attrition gradually reduce the work force.
Which do you prefer, Stack Ranking/PIP or Mass Layoffs?
Unfortunately, it seems the trend is to cut number of employees in FAANGs.
Twitter is now a 1,500 people company and it operates well. It used to be 4,000.
It is sad, but it seems more cuts are coming.

I prefer "Neutron Dance", but to each his own.
