If you decided to leave your job at Qualcomm on your own terms in the past year or two, can you share what the experience was like for you? Did you give two weeks' notice or did you decide against it? What was the process like? I'd love to hear about it in more detail!

I was lucky enough to get a package and have to say it is the best think that ever happened to me. Qualcomm is a funny company, not sure why people think QCOM is the only company to work for? I found plenty of opportunities in work environments that are much more favorable than QCOM and with a stock that actually appreciates. The company I currently work for is a high-tech company that embraces the work from home model (in office one day a week) and continues to post strong results. The worst part of QCOM is how insipid managment is and how over the last ten-fifteen years it is all about them making all the money. Simply look at insider trade transactions they are making 50-100 million in stock while laying off 1000s. Grass is definitely greener outside QCOM.
I agree with @1yvz+1 . Don't forget your red stapler.
Don’t quit to exact revenge. No one cares. Life will go on without you. No one is that important. Quit if it is right for you. Might be worthwhile waiting a little to see if you can get a package. But at some point you will need to pull the cord, can’t wait forever for a package.
Take as much money as you can. Go on a month vacation and then come back and drop the bo-b! This corrupt company is not worth any mercy. F** qcom.
Do quit. Don't wait for a package. The joy and pride you get from being the one to pull the trigger is delicious. Fire your bosses.
Don’t quit. There is another round of layoffs coming. Volunteer and get the package.
Just be sure to remove all your personal items, clean out desk, etc before you give notice. I have personally seen employees walked out of the building the day notice is given. The employee is normally paid for the last two weeks.
Msg your manager, you want to talk.
Give them verbal notice of your 2 weeks.
Wait a couple days, email notice them the same.
Wait 2 weeks. Thats it.
Dont need to click any boxes, fillout any forms or sign anything or respond to survey requests, etc
Say goodbye. That's it.
I gave 8 days notice. Never had a proper exit interview. Good riddance.
Hi,
I gave 2 weeks notice. It's the proper thing to do. I don't think it's a legal requirement, but it's common courtesy. Even if Q treated you so badly that you felt like you had to quit, no need to stoop to their level. You coast the last 2 weeks anyway, just making sure your work is documented, handed off, etc. Not required to do new work. You should check out my farewell lunch story in the "heartless" thread. @nlkp+1l9f5diT
Even the exit process is heartless. You just go to your Workday page, under your Profile, then "Change job status" to "Resigned". Your cr@ppy manager doesn't even have to do that for you, you do that yourself. Your "exit interview" with HR is optional, even that's just a checkbox in the form. The most impersonal procedure you can think you. Truly heartless corporate machinery. I didn't bother with an exit interview.
