Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

5% cut in operating expenses...

This has to be at least 2,000 jobs eliminated...probably more. At least 1,000 in San Diego.

Time to update the CV. LOL.

Surgical cuts for overpaid & underworked managers will make Q stronger going forward. Cut the managers who are ki-ling the Q culture and moral.

Yes. other methods:

  1. Change medical benefits, make them cr@appier again, with 2X higher deductibles
  1. Change the performance rating system, AGAIN, from a scale of 1..5 to a scale of 1..3, where 1 means "satisfactory", 2 means "genius that always exceeds expectations", 3 means "K!sses @ss like a little b!tch who made Principal without writing a line of code or a useless Sr Dir who just made VP"
  1. Charge to use toilets and gym. 25cents if you want to enter a building. Parking will be $20 / day. Sodas are $3 a can. But you get $100 if you guess how much weight CA gained squeezing into those tight tshirts. Pillsbury dough boy.

If the cost cutting was exclusively by a single method of reducing personnel. It’s not. That should be clear
by now. Not saying there won’t be any, just pointing out there are other methods used.
