Looks like Macys did change the return policy to 30 days for most items. Not sure how long Macys started this, they just posted it in my area. I’m sure managers will just have us override everything. So annoying.

Today, I went to return and what an annoyance. On the receipt it says the return is valid for 90 days. At the stoe the sales clerk said 30 days. Honestly, Macy's really should not be using old register tape. The sale is from April 3. The policy changed in March so why penalize the customer for the lack of preparation on their part and not have the receipt match the policy? Really annoying. They would not allow the return but eventually did once the saleswomen realized that the computer system allowed the return and gave a certificate refund which will arrive in the mail.
New register tape is on its way to all stores. Blank on the back. Return policy now prints on the front. Circle it to help get the word across, and point it out to every customer. Won't solve the total issue but will help anyway.
This return policy is going to affect when customers shop for holidays. Customers do start shopping for the holidays sometimes in September. Is Macys going to adjust for the holidays? Like some store do
Ours still has the old policy on the back.
Register tape is blank on the back
I hope they give us updated register tape. Otherwise the one day the customer actually reads the back of the receipt and it’s the old policy is the day I tell the customer she’s right.
Just started today. No override needed until May...so POS will still allow for +30 days until then. After that a manager will need to override
The return policy goes into effect on March 7th, however, the customer will not be penalized until May 1st. This is the 'warning period." to make every ones lives easier and less complicated, circle or high light the new return policy at point of sale. This action will eliminate confusion and the customer has been notified or warned. Failure to complete this process will result in YOUR frustration. Just circle the return policy!
