TK, owners and facilities folks, let me explain something to you -- open office layouts are sh-t! If you're going to impose your pointless hardline RTO, at least act like you give a damn, and put me in a god-damned cubicle so I can sit and focus on my work.

The open office plan sucked before the pandemic. It's just a return to the old suck now.
Il am so happy i got laid off! Hang in there the grass is WAY GREENER at other companies!
It's clear the overlords aren't interested in improving productivity. Just cram everyone together like cattle at these d-mb open desks. I'm sure the facilities and workspaces in 751 will be as bad, if not worse than 899.
Not sure which offices you guys are talking about, but every floor in 899, which my decimated team used to go to, was open-plan for a good handful of years before c19. Anytime I had to go onsite, I basically resigned myself to getting nothing done because everyone assumed that if they could see me, I was "available" to talk. Even if I was wearing headphones -- which, apparently, are no longer the universal "leave me alone" signal they used to be. It wasn't long before I started developing a complex that prevented me from starting any work at all for fear I'd be interrupted & lose what little focus I could muster. When that happened, I started taking my laptop to the breakroom & working out of a booth by the window where I wasn't as easily seen.
Anyway, it stands to reason they'd use that as a template for every other office, if it wasn't like that already. After all, none of this is about doing actual work -- it's about "all your brain cycle are belong to us."
By "productivity", Krause means "we want to be able to see you at all times because we don't trust you." The BS about collaboration is exactly that: BS.
I'd say it's yet another reason to leave, but unfortunately, this open plan silliness has spread due to monkey-see, monkey-do. Doesn't mean CSG couldn't buck the trend though. But that would mean CSG would have to start actually caring about employee productivity.
Finally somebody said it! Open-plan office space is as productive and functional as RTO. Would work in a hybrid environment, but some days I just need the quiet to concentrate.
If b-ms on seats = productivity, then open offices are great for 20th century based managers to look over their minions and see what a great job they are doing at management.
If CSG leadership remains too backward to handle regular WFH, least they could do is add side dividers to the work desks. Though I expect they'll do absolutely nothing to improve things. Seems like our productivity level really doesn't matter to them.
I’m sure the PE offices are open layout…
Not.
Welcome to the new feudalism.
Open office models are one of the most foolish ideas that came out of the tech startup era. For anyone that has to think and create something for a living, it's full of distractions. And, the big lie is that it's designed for collaboration. No, it's designed for cost-cutting.
