I got laid off and am actually glad it happened as it accelerated my retirement goals... The good ship TC is not the same company I joined years ago... the last few years employee benefits have been slowly eroded (health benefits, flex days, profit sharing) and was working under the constant threat of being laid off. Management seems lost and they have let go the experienced people that had some clue how things actually work in the field... They laid me off with a decent package and I was close to retirement so I decided to give it a go. 5 weeks later a package showed up on my door. It was a retirement plaque fro0m TC with no note or anything. A plaque and a shipping invoice... Tells me how valuable I was. Sad to say but all of us working stiffs are so expendable - we are just numbers. Glad to be gone!
Hey Enbridge people stay on your own board, we don't want to let everyone know how dysfunctional we are. :)
Wow, this all sounds familiar to Enbridge! I knew “grass wasn’t greener”! Hate to hear you all deal with the same $hit!
Yes, SR Management is corrupt, especially on the USNG side. JD does whatever KD says, all about diversity? Please sheep in wolves clothing, not to mention the kickbacks taken by JPH and wife in contracts in MX. SMH.
Senior management should look at it as their own performance that the company is cutting down on perks that been there at all times regardless when one joined the company. TC has become the most slow and poor performing companies with a lot of “red tape” and some degree of corruption. Senior managers salaries and bonuses must be cut!
My increase was just under 5%…. But what I find interesting is all of the employee benefits that have been slowly eroded over the last two years. First it was the elimination of 6 flex days and now it’s the elimination of medical benefits for those that retire after January 1, 2025. With all of the employee cuts and the “Do less with less” mo--nic mantra this place is becoming a sweat shop where employees are expendable…. Curious if the overpaid execs are getting their perks trimmed? The SS TC is sinking!!!
You will own nothing and be happy!
Just kidding, but seriously what is with this new Gen Z middle management experiment while soft firing most of the experienced employees?
These kids are set up to fail managing with no career experience and no leadership above them. Not to mention the latest crop of inexperienced Directors, VP’s and EVP’s.
Is this new approach because of realization about the pension burden that may not be fundable in the near future?
There are many valuable employees choosing to jettison the good shop TC on their own for the first time on a couple decades.
This will likely be an organizational business case failure that will be studied in business management schools.
3% increase, so a decrease with inflation. I'm told I'm a high performer, but they have a limited budget lol. I can't believe I put in so many extra hours to deliver positive outcomes last year for this.
3 percent raise, so I have a pay cut with inflation. I can't believe I put in so many extra hours last year for this.
Another news, my 30-something year-old boss is getting a new truck because she wants "a safer and more reliable vehicle". It must be nice!
Three Words. Put them in the right order. Link. Coastal. Gas.
A 4% increase is actually a 6% decrease when you factor in 10% inflation.
“Sounds like you were underpaid to begin with. 10% for E2.”
Lol kind of like you?
Because 30%-50% of the company works on useless tasks which don’t effect much. Could be eliminated without hurting the company much at all. For example hundreds of employees in the te-----e centre just reviewing others work without providing any real input.
Why don’t they just reduce everyone by 10-15% and not lay off hundreds?
- 5% for a E3 at 0.96 CR
Sounds like you were underpaid to begin with. 10% for E2.
The less you make the higher increase
