Thread regarding QVC layoffs

QVC is getting swallowed by time

Let's face it, QVC (as well as HSN) is a dinosaur. The world is changing, how we take in information is changing, and QVC is more or less staying the same. It's nobody's fault. QVC has a certain model and that model is becoming outdated. Like Blockbuster, for example. You can't expect that the new generations, who are mostly television-averse, are going to keep the company running. I don't see QVC surviving long-term.

Shame on you QVC and HSN executives. It seems that Greed and Mismanagement are the cause of the problem. Maybe people should boycott these stations until these people and the 400 others who got fired/laid off are hired back with an increase in pay and benefits etc. It seems that the workers and the customers are paying for the Warehouse fire at QVC. I think QVC & HSN executives got greedy when the pandemic hit and online ordering was the only way to shop since the stores had no stock.

I posted my comment weeks ago but it did not show up on this post. Bring back Carolyn Gracie and Dan Hughes at QVC. Also bring back Shannon Smith & Shannon Fox at HSN.

QVC & HSN needs to align themselves to compete with Walmart & Amazon and provide better Quality, pricing, faster returns and faster delivery.

QVC and HSN are not the same without these Hosts. These hosts were the most enjoyable to watch and probably sold more items than the other hosts.

These hosts were not the problem. The problem is that your prices and shipping costs are way too high. Delivery takes way to long. Quality is poor, especially for the price. These companies also invoice you when the product ships and you have 30 days to return from invoice date, but you should get 30 days from delivery date. Also when the product is ordered and shipped via UPS and they pass it off USPS it takes forever to get delivered. Customers should not be billed until after the product is delivered and have 30 days to return the item from delivery date, not ship date.

QVC and HSN created a business before the internet existed. It was a different marketplace. Their dedicated members have started to die and QVC must find a way to interest new customers who do most of their shopping online. QVC never sold Junk. But new owners Qurate Retail has not been treating customers well. So customers are aging out and Qurates is mistreating remaining customers. Not a formula for success.

Not a new statement & agree. There is no relevance in the new streaming space. People that know how to use new technology also know how to evaluate pricing of products. No reason to overpay for junk when you can find better quality elsewhere and without extra shipping fees that are a scam to try to stay in business for extra cash. Sad though. Offered great entertainment for a long time but the leadership is a joke.

I agree, they are too saddled with a legacy business model (long-from live video ) and even their websites lack modern interfaces and technology.

TV studios are expensive to run. YOUTubers and Tiktokers can connect with an audience while sitting in their car.
