Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

SM’s working 40 hour weeks

Is anyone already doing this? When does it go into effect? Will there be a pay cut? Will SM’s have set days off?

Any insight is appreciated.

Amazing to see people continue to think that BBB will last through 2023.

https://www.reuters.com/markets/us/unisys-bed-bath-beyond-slide-after-removal-small-cap-index-2023-03-06/
Monday and shares of embattled home goods retailer Bed Bath & Beyond Inc fell about 4% after it was announced they will be removed from the small-cap S&P 600 index (.SPCY) in two weeks.

The lifeline they were given has contingencies based around how well the stock does. Every investor that has given BBB money has clauses that allows them to back away at any time when the stock underperforms. Once they back away BBB is done. Oh sorry forgot... #wegotthis #goBaby

“Bed Bath & Beyond Stock Is On Sale“ Bloomberg article today.
You don’t give out $250 mil without expecting something in return. The bar is set so low for this company now. You will see a sense of urgency to close wave 3 and 4 in the coming weeks. If you can’t stomach the bs find something more stable. The BS is just going to higher and higher.

Not backing out of the deal before they lose even more won't happen. The stock continues to tumble. The memers left this dumpster because the stock is worth nothing now. To think because they gave BBB this lifeline means they are in it and BBB will make it through 2023 is just crazy talk.

“Perhaps do some research about the hedge fund deal. It is structured where they have nothing to lose and everything to gain even if BBB closes shop tomorrow.“
Perhaps you need to do the research. $260 mil is a huge loss for any investor or hedge fund. They are in it for the short term while meme investors drive up the stock price. All stock manipulation going forward regardless of the health of the company.
As for me I left this train wreck weeks ago. I posted here countless of times warning people about 0 severance pay, increase layoff and no future with this company. So far this company hasn’t let me down. 0 401k match. Stay for the steady pay, leave for your mental health.

@3ila+1lsTLkN5 Perhaps do some research about the hedge fund deal. It is structured where they have nothing to lose and everything to gain even if BBB closes shop tomorrow. Hudson Bay may simply cut their losses before they grow. BBB will not be around by the end of 2023. Are you one of the people who were laid off as a DT from Harmon or BBB and actually stuck around and took a job from Baby? I could understand why you would hope they will be around a bit longer if that is the case. Not exactly a smart move though.

*Financier Hudson Bay has no incentive to stick around.

Now, BBBY stock is likely to fall below the $1.25 mark and, if it does, Hudson Bay may pull out. That will only send shares down even further. Other investors will likely pull out as well to avoid further losses.

"Who cares every store is closing by 7/23/23"
This company is not going anywhere this year. The Investor and or hedge fund who threw a $250 million lifeline did not do it out of the kindness of their heart. They want their money back and then some. Even if that means squeezing every single penny from every worker left. The company is a game being played by memers and hedge funds, at the end of the day the store level workers are the ones holding the bs bags.

I think the date is an assumption that chapter 7 would be timed with the release of Q1 results.

Our SM never worked more than 3 hours a day. In by 11 out by 2. Only worked 3-4 days a week.

Well since it only affects SM and you’re obviously not a SM or you would know these questions. Why are you trolling for questions that don’t concern you?
