There were layoffs at Welocalize this week. Anywhere between 150 and 200 people were let go. I don't have too many details but I can say this is not the first time the company did something like this and made sure to keep it as hush-hush as possible. Good luck to all who were affected.

By AND large, not "buy-in-large" like freakin' Costco. Why do they keep you on if you can't even spell?
Was trying to find someone I work with recently. Apparently they got laid off weeks ago and I was not made aware. Self evident was the reason for their termination I guess.
I am unaware of any that happened in the week leading up to the other comment but we had circumstance in earlier months. It is unfortunate but necessary for our business. Saying our goodbye to poor coworkers did happen but buy-in-large, the layoffs affected good people full stop.
Another round of layoffs hit yesterday but it seems only the low performers got the boot. The company understandably used the excuse of a smaller book of business to cut ties with underperforming project managers who used WFH to slack off all day. Honestly good for them. The people that got kicked were the worst.
