The next three months will determine if there'll be more cuts. There isn't much we can do about this. Sadly, at this point, it's out of our hands. I miss the old QVC when all we did was hire and the only ones who lost their jobs were the incompetent ones. In today's environment, nobody is safe.

Sounds like age discrimination at its best. Puting the older workers out to pasture. Dan Hughes and Carolyn Gracie were wonderful and funny and so lovable on qvc.
And the same For Shannon Smith and Shannon Fox on HSN. I also feel bad for the other 400 workers who lost their jobs. Maybe people should boycott both shows until the hosts and other workers get hired back with raises and benefits. Qvc and HSN Executives made a Bad Move. Maybe they should lose their jobs.
One can only assume HSN will be absorbed by QVC at some point. Producing TV is an expensive proposition, particularly when you are competing with TIKTOK stars and their brands now. I can't imagine any Gen Z consumer having the attention span of a QVC sales pitch in a big over lit studio. Let alone knowing how to find it on a TV.
I 100% don't believe the cr-p they are saying. They have hired how many new hosts!! I find it hard to believe they are struggling. I love David Venable but am done with the network. Paid off all of my stuff this morning and closed my account. AND did I read correctly they hired the CFO from JC Penny? HMMMMM- guess know one noticed that JCP went out of business. I think it's greed among other things...they only reason they didn't let David go is because he makes them a fortune.
Old QVC will never be back. It's not even so much because of incompetency but the sheer fact that a business model from the 80s doesn't translate forever so unless they can figure out how to change then things go downward. Some people got lucky, got a job here in the 80s and got to ride this out during the best years but things come to an end and everyone should have realized this many years ago.
They've been doing these cuts like these for many years now and it will infact continue as project Athens by definition is has to get costs down globally to survive. At some point they will sell off HSN's HQ and continue to consolidate the business down as much as possible as the real estate at that location is too valuable to keep it going.
