Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

No Tibco fire?

Just curious -- Where are all the angry Tibco folks? I'm sure Citrix fam are not the only ones who are full of pi-s & vinegar about CSG. But the Tibco board seems dead compared to this one. What gives? Tibco folks already gave all the fu--s they had left or Citrix fam just better at world-class kvetching?

I'm a former TIBCO & I can tell you I'm fuming at this mess most days. I only recently found out about this forum so maybe that's partly why you don't hear from many of us. A few have also mentioned that we've been in the PE ringer a bit longer than Citrix so we've come to expect this type of behavior. I think that's partly true.

I am certainly no Vista or PE apologist, but I will say that the TK behavior seems unique even for them. We've had budget cutting before and austere business practices, but some of the ruthlessness and lack of care for engagement, culture, and diversity is astounding. It didn't use to be that way. He-l, Vista even preaches about the importance of these things and many of the companies in their portfolio (I'm even envious of them) still at least give those kinds of topics lip service. Again, not a PE apologist, but it seems that something has shifted OR they were just sick of TIBCO doing 'OK but not great' for so man years, that they handed the reigns over to Sauron and told him to do as he pleases...

Citrites have been amazing to work with. We're all in this together (unfortunately).

Tibco was a good place to work. Our CEO actually cared about employees. Working from home was fine. The company did pretty well. This merger completely ruined everything. I can't imagine why anyone would voluntarily stay. You think CSG is ever going to be on a "best places to work" list? Worst places, it's already there.

Citrix really was an excellent place to work in the before times. We've all landed in the same place, but maybe Citrix had a lot farther to fall?

Long time Citrix woman here. I love Tibco people, and they understand exactly what Citrites are going through because they didn’t have a choice with how things turned out either. Everyone that I work with who is legacy Tibco has been fantastic, no complaints. Citrites have a deep rooted dislike and mistrust of TK in no small part because his introduction to the company was handled incredibly poorly. Someone mentioned TK’s first GEM, and it’s true - TK was arrogant, he didn’t answer employee questions directly, he said “You’ll know by the end of the year if you have a job or not” (NICE WAY TO INTRO YOURSELF, TK!) and he spent an inordinate amount of time talking about his time playing high school baseball (Zzzzzzz. Really? Ask me if I care.) Shortly after that disastrous GEM, he rescinded the last Thank You day. That destroyed whatever remnants of goodwill and honeymoon period between Citrites and TK. TK was blasting out a clear message that he does not care about us - I mean how tone deaf to employees can you be? It’s like a case study out of business school of classic CEO incompetence. I would have laughed hysterically reading this case study except it’s our reality. So, yeah, it just feels like Citrites and TK did not start off on the right foot. Sadly, TK continues down the path of destroying positive relationships with employees with his sick RTO obsession. But….we need to ask ourselves…are we asking too much of TK to treat employees in a dignified and respectful manner? He is, after all, an accountant - positive personal and professional relationships and the work that goes into maintaining those positive relationships are beyond his comprehension and abilities. So, we continue to circle the drain in a dysfunctional dance to thedeath of a once proud company.

Citrites do seem to hate TK more. I'm not saying Tibco people like him, but we freaking HATE the guy. My theory is that that TK burned several metric tons of goodwill before the deal even closed by rescinding Citrix's "everyone can work from home forever" policy by personal fiat, without warning or explanation. Whatever the merits or demerits of RTO, that was so disrespectful.

Hi hi!! I’m an angry Tibco person!

I lurk over here because the Tibco side is quiet and there isn’t a CSG site.

It sucks for everyone. I love the Citrix people and the Tibco people … but the leaders are obviously blowing it! I feel camaraderie with Citrix because we’re all on the same sinking ship and our overlords are bickering and incompetent. It’s made me love the Citrix workers bees even more. We’re all bi--hing about this whole sh-t show.

Spread the word to your buddies and get more people in the conversation here or let’s all get on Blind!

This is just a guess. Citrix had more people and got hit a lot harder. Not that Tibco didn't get hit, but I think Citrix really got it the most. Also, most people don't know this site exists.
