Thread regarding Blackbaud Inc. layoffs

End of the road

Let's thank those who have worked with us for years for the end of the road is today March 1 for so many of our colleagues affected by the Feb RIF. And oh those severance packages are puny in comparison to c level share payouts I must say.

Let's also look and see c level insiders selling 100k+ and 275k+ mere days ago Feb 23 according to Yahoo insider trading info.

Let's have our c level explain to us how we needed this RIF to lean out and be more profitable all the while the company pays out bonuses at the end of Feb. How unprofitable could last year have been if bonus levels are so high this time. Oh and by the way the fact the bonuses are pegged to stock is cr-p. Why can't a rule of 40 lean mean company pay and actual cash bonus. Why stock bonus. You know why because that helps the c suite add to rule of 40 while screwing workers because they take immediate losses on that sh-t. Because you know the c suite screwed the pooch on the stock to right.

Take a look at year over year and 5 year trends here.

Everyone in this example is down year over year. S&P Blackbaud Nasdaq and 2 competitors. So yeah we know we are in a downturn a bit...but wait for it...look at the 5 year trends of all the same places. Every other entity on this list is up on the 5 years trends except for BLKB. So this isn't a one off we had less attrition RIF as they mentioned in earning call. This is a building trend that the executive level cannot deliver shareholder value. Follow the numbers. It's inevitable in a downturn tough economy to be down like all the examples below. It's a mismanagement of a company to be down for 5 years when most other competitors are seeing higher value. This is what happens when real competition arrives at the back door and you are no longer the only game in town. You simply can no longer keep up because your management team isn't built for it.

It's only a matter of time before this ship sinks be it by take over, merger or internal collapse all together.

Blkb

  1. 78 USD -5.13 (-8.43%)past year
  2. 78 USD -47.36 (-45.92%)past 5 years

Let's look at a competitor call it sales competitor

  1. 70 USD -43.17 (-20.67%)past year
  2. 70 USD +43.78 (35.91%)past 5 years

Nasdaq composite
11,369.08 -2,163.40 (-15.99%)past year
11,369.08 +4,111.21 (56.64%)past 5 year

S&P
3,945.41 -360.85 (-8.38%)past year
3,945.41 +1,254.16 (46.60%)past 5 years

Another competitor call it work competitor

  1. 38 USD -55.95 (-23.28%)past year
  2. 38 USD +53.10 (40.45%)past 5 years

I am sure folks can figure out the competitors

Stay true folks. Do not forget today happened to your friends and colleagues because of your c level. Do not lose sight of the fact the stock trend is counter to the industry as a whole for 5 year trends. Put the mismanagement of this c level and the stock trend together and see the next RIF in 2023 coming. It's not an attrition thing it's not a profitability thing. It's a mismanagement thing driving down shareholder value causing very regular RIF and bad acquisitions to temporarily prop up the stock. That only works so many times and for so long.

2023 just started

fu-k blackbaud.

enjoy your little "you cannot talk sh-t about the company" clause in your severance agreement. my sc-mbag manager didn't even have the decency to connect with me after i found out about my position being eliminated, meanwhile, all the other sales people i work with offered empathy and support. my manager is the kind of a--hole who thrives here. Stupid side projects, pseudo-intellectual trying to make himself seem like hes worth anything more than a penny. Paid 750M for EVERFI and your revenue was 400k in Q4? LOL. In a way, im glad that im no longer associated to this circus.
