"All we are asking is for the old normal"
"Everybody is expected to be in the office 5 days a week"
These things can not be true at the same time. So which is it?

Waiting on my offer letter so I can leave. Being treated like children is just not it.
Do what I did - get a remote work medical accommodation. Case closed. They F##K with me, my promotion or try to fire me, my lawyer is on standby, and he does not play around. Make my day, CSG. MAKE. MY. DAY.
I am fully remote and live nowhere near an office. I guess I’ll make cr-p bonuses and never get promoted. Idgaf.
To everyone dealing with this RTO BS, I’m with you. It is boldly unfair and frankly disgusting. If there is a strike or a walk out day, I’m with you. You don’t deserve this garbage.
There is no going back to an “old normal”. The “old days” are gone as much as we can’t return to the 1950’s. THAT’S WHY IT’S OLD.
You know what would be funny? If everyone at CSG simply 'went on strike' and stopped working. Everyone. The company would collapse.
RE:
Even though his office occupies nearly 1/4 of the top floor.
And just which building is this? Maybe someone can set up a "game camera" (...now EVERYBODY knows one of my hobbies !).
This sounds like lawsuit material. Some people can remain remote, but other people cannot move further away to be remote?
“Find a family member/friend outside the 50 mile radius and change your address to that.”. The new RTO mandate says that those who are currently remote can move anywhere and remain remote. Those who are assigned to an office and want to move must ask for “permission” but will still most likely be assigned to an office and required to RTO regardless! Super fair rules! Stupidity and unfairness at its finest.
I mean….given his swine appearance and hog breath, I count myself among the fortunate ones that he NEVER SHOWS UP AT AN OFFICE.
Find a family member/friend outside the 50 mile radius and change your address to that. They will never figure it out. “Yea, boss, I’m moving back in with my mom, it sucks”
Two can play this game.
"California office is a ghost town."
Actually the whole SF bay area is still hurting. Office occupancy overall is ~46% of full prior to the pandemic. The outlook is equally grim for landlords who currently can't find new tenants for their empty buildings.
I don't know why I didn't believe everyone when they said he was bluffing about RTO the first time. So annoying. I should have just stayed home.
@amx+1lpuwrJe Fraud and market manipulation for the profit of a private equity investor at the expense of public markets is NOT a tenet of American Capitalism. It's the product of corruption and government disfunction. Let's fix those things rather than throw the baby out with the bath water.
Several somebodies should be in Club Fed over what happened here, but instead the powers that be have got us all outraged about wedge issues so they can pillage the place while we're distracted.
The old but new normal because (checks notes) oh yeah - productivity. #Gaslight
Tu-d Krepes dgaf cuz he still gettin' the phat check regardless of how he treats us. American Capitalism IS destroying life as we know it.
For the ###-kissers working directly for him, I hope whatever you are getting paid is worth you surrendering all of your dignity. Reminds me of North Korea where everyone has to smile and applaud like crazy whenever that fat psychopath takes a step. Oh, did I say "fat psychopath"? Who am I referring to?
On top of that, never seen the King there himself. Even though his office occupies nearly 1/4 of the top floor.
That is the old normal as well as the new normal for TKs mgmt style. He isn’t one of the sheep ya know?
A lot of things used to be normal which no longer are. People used to wear suits to work every day. Then came Casual Friday. Next, every day was casual. Next, people had flexible schedules. Next, people could work remotely some days. Next, people could work remotely every day. See how it works, Tommy? It's called PROGRESS.
He's too much of a born liar to say the truth. He wants to order people back to the office so that he can fire more people who don't want to do it (and therefore not pay them severance.) That is 100 percent what he is planning. All this BS about productivity is a big fat lie.
Is Tom going to be in the office five days a week? OF COURSE NOT.
Stairs are much healthier than an elevator and food makes you fat.
California office is a ghost town. Elevators broken, no desktops as mentioned in all-hands, no monitors, sh---y chairs. Food sucks, nearly none of the meeting room equipment is functional. Office as a whole tragically unprepared for a reopening. Feels more like an insult than a completed project. On top of that, never seen the King there himself. Even though his office occupies nearly 1/4 of the top floor.
If you’re remote, you are free to do as you want and may even qualify for additional benefits for a home office. Jackpot! If you are a su---r within a 50 mile radius, you get to pay for gas, sit in traffic for hours, pay for lunch, pay for babysitters and dog walkers, and record your every move in Workday if your baby is sick or you need to be home for a roof repair. Double Jackpot. Thanks TK!
Benefits not being equal among all employees - sounds like illegal labor practices.
Seems that those who are remote and don’t t live near a “global hub location”have a lot more benefits than those forced to RTO 5 days a week. Financial savings, less stress, and a lot more time with their families. How is that for a great and productive culture??? Why should a Santa Clara County resident be forced to spend crazy money on gas and depreciate a car with more miles commuting to an office while a New Jersey colleague gets to work remote??? Resignations coming!
If you are already remote, you can remain remote and move anywhere you like. If you are "local", you will always be considered "local", even if you move outside the d-mb 50 mile radius. Makes no sense and is unfair to say the least.
Even Amazon isn't this draconian in their RTO.
