Riddle me this: why not offer a Tesla with a small gas engine?

Don’t most owners put a portable Honda generator in the trunk for emergency charge? That probably offers more flexibility,
Ok but diesel has the advantage of low end torque that Tesla customers enjoy. Why not retrofit with a mid sized diesel. One variant could have chrome vertical exhaust pipes perhaps with a rain flap, have red paint and customs ‘lil red express paint job.
Tesla already offers a small gas engine.
