HA was definitely not hired for her engineering experience which was ZERO. Why was she promoted into that role. I think we know…

One may wonder, his leaving or firing is related to political battle at the ELT level.
There is a CSO (TC, JC) gang, there is a PM gang (HA AY), then there is blue-eyed boys of SM gang (DS).

Looks like DS is winning, HA is almost out but for DEI reasons…

It’s a sad news for Teradata. First of all, a humble and nice exec. I am from the field and have leveraged AY and his team in my customer accounts. He is an expert in customer interactions, knows our product so well, has a good handle on our product roadmap and strategy. He has brought a lot of credibility to the PM org and hired right set of folks. He started managing the cloud product from nascent stages and have helped Teradata get here. Do we have challenges in product and GTM… yes. But he has brought focus to our cloud play. His team swears by him and the field folks have really good things to say about his leadership style.

Losing a bunch more directors and VP execs would not hurt this place

Mr cloud-only-or-else loves hiring people from his country of origin. But not talented ones, only yes sir! Ones.

Mr Cloud First + we dont need OnPrem (even though that's what the customers asked for)

Leadership must have figured out that no new logos + converting current onprem to cloud was not a long term business plan.

IBM played the shift customers between BUs to show "profit" shell game + got burned in the early 2000s. Teradata being the market leader that it is figured out how to do the same 20 years later.

AY might be a decent fellow and a decent boss, but he is the king of silos, the granddaddy of not playing well with others, and he's got the personality of a dead fish. He and his buddy RK were joined by the hip for hears and they accomplished nothing.

AY had his hands all over the most recent round of layoffs. And you know what? He's also the guy who ki-led off some big-time products and forced through those half-baked solutions like that console DOA thing.

I mean, come on, this guy is supposed to be a big shot, but all he's done is make things worse. It's a damn shame, if you ask me. The guy hasn't come up with a single new product yet. What a waste.
